radar for motorcycle
I was wondering if you can give me some advice please on a radar detector to suit a motorcycle..

I have a Suzuki Hayabusa and frequently travel the country roads of NSW. I am mainly concerned about mobile radar in Highway Patrol Vehicles.

I was wondering if there's a radar detector which is invisible to RDD's? And would it be better for me to have a permanent hidden unit installed on my bike or a portable one I can quickly detach?

Have you heard of Police searching a person to see if they have a radar detector or only vehicles?

Also is there's a heads up wireless display for my helmet? Or maybe just a bright LED light which can draw my attention to an alert.
I can arrange an address in W.A to post items to if necessary.

Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Radar Detectors are illegal to own and operate in NSW http://www.legislation.nsw.gov.au/fragvi...traffic%22

Police in NSW operate what's called a Stalcar radar detector detector (RDD) http://www.spectre-rdd.com/index.asp which picks up the "electronic noise" of a radar detector anywhere from 40 metres to over 1000 metres - depending on the brand of detector. The only radar detectors invisible to the RDD's are stealth radar detectors - http://www.delonixradar.com.au/radar_det...ealth.html

Being that you're driving a motorcycle you would need to house the detector in a waterproof housing which would make it difficult to be portable or easily detached.
But yes, there are wireless HUD's for motorcycle helmets.

I am interested in the BEL STi and could stick it on the inside
of my bikes screen which is heavily tinted so could only be seen
from behind. I am mainly using the bike on the highway at high
speeds so I dont think any car would come up behind me.
I dont think it would need to be waterproof as I always avoid
riding in the rain and when it does rain the water never gets on
the inside of the screen. Can I use the portable one and use a
HUD with it? Also can the HUD be installed on the helmet invisibly
or do I need a little box on the outside of the helmet as I have seen
in some photos?

You will need to permanently afix the bracket to your windscreen with either silicon or screws. The suction cup style (even so called "heavy duty") brackets come loose with the vibrations of the bike.

Having your radar detector come flying off your bike at 100km/h does not do it any good.

The Cheetah HUD has a small black box that attaches to your helmet, with the LED display set in your peripheral vision.

RE: radar for motorcycle
We will have a new motorcycle radar package coming out by the end of the year. Includes undetectable (stealth radar detector) and various alert devices.
