Our
Bel STi Remote kit is for those customers already operating a Bel STi radar
detector, but would like to mount it remotely for a concealed, stealth
installation.
We
offer two remote kits:
Package 1 - Basic Kit
The
basic kit includes the weatherproof enclosure to house your Bel STi in the front
bumper of grill of your car, the necessary cables, and gives you visual (LED)
alerts, as well as the normal tone/voice alerts using the existing external speaker that
came with your Bel STi.

The
basic remote kit will hide your STi radar detector, by mounting it within a
weatherproof aluminium enclosure. This enclosure can be mounted in the
front grill or behind the bumper for extreme hidden applications. Radar
will still penetrate plastic or fiberglass bumpers, so as long as there is no
metal in front of your bumper, the radar detector will still operate perfectly.
For laser detection however, in this scenario we recommend a separate laser
system such as our
laser parking
sensors or
Blinder laser system.
By mounting your STi radar detector using this remote kit, you no longer have to
remove the detector off the windscreen every time you park your car, and risk it
being stolen. For areas that use the Multanova 6F speed camera, we
recommend mounting vertically as shown in the picture.
We've
also upgraded the standard LED warning light
to a remote mounted high intensity LED light, that is mounted discretely in your dash, or
can even be mounted in your instrument cluster like the K40 systems. Even
with the audio alerts muted, turned off, or drowned out by loud music, the
bright LED will continue alert.
Audible alerts (with voice identification) come from your existing
remote/external speaker that is mounted discretely under your dash. The tone alerts can be muted with the
supplied remote
external mute button, that is designed for discrete installation behind your
indicator or windscreen wiper lever.
The
kit also includes a master on/off switch, supplying power to the radar detector,
as well as a "kill switch".
The kill switch operates independently of the on/off switch, which on
activation, renders the system
completely inoperable - in times of extreme scrutiny.
Overall the basic package makes for a simple, discrete, hidden installation that
keeps suction cups marks off your windscreen and relieves you from hiding your
detector each time you park the car.
Package 2 - Pro Kit
The
Pro kit is an upgrade on the basic remote kit, which now adds wireless & GPS
fixed speed/red light camera alerts to
your system. Controlled by the
Cheetah GPS mirror, you now have a complete package that not only detects
mobile radar & laser, but also FIXED speed cameras and red light cameras -
something a radar detector on its own cannot do.
All
the radar detector's
alerts (including voice alerts) are
transmitted wirelessly to
the GPS mirror. Combining the Cheetah GPS Mirror and the STi radar
detector gives you full protection from mobile AND fixed speed
cameras, radar, laser, as well as safety warning messages such as accident
black spots, over speed warning reminders, rescue me co-ordinates and red
light camera intersection warnings
Furthermore, the
Cheetah GPS mirror features "stealth
speed"
which is a speed limit you set, that will automatically mute the STi's tone
alerts. For example, you could set your "stealth speed" to
60km/h. This will silence any alert from the radar detector if you are
driving below 60km/h. Increase your speed over your "Stealth
speed" and now your radar detector alerts are heard as normal. (see
video below) This will make for a
much quieter ride in the city where your radar detector would normally false
alarm at all the automatic door openers.
