World beating performance for our types of radar cameras
Specifically designed for UK and
Irish camera frequencies, the Cheetah Sentinel has the best K band detection
range in the world. It gives you more advance warning than any other detector of
the mobile radar and fixed radar cameras that are used all over the UK and
Ireland.
Advance warning is typically around
300m when approaching a Gatso camera from behind, depending on the location of
the camera. Some cameras will register as far as 600m or more. Approaching a
camera from the front, the signal is stronger, so there is up to 800m advance
warning. Mobile GATSOs will generate similar warnings, while hand held devices
like radar guns will produce even greater warning distances.
Wireless, concealed & discreet

The Sentinel's waterproof detector
head can easily be concealed in discreet location at the front of your vehicle:
behind your radiator grille, under your bumper or in an air scoop. There are
usually a number of places it can go. Once fitted, there is nothing noticeable
to attract the attention of passers-by or opportunistic thieves and the tiny
AUDIOnode in-car warning unit can be positioned anywhere you like in the car. It
does not
have to sit on top of your dashboard. Speed trap alerts are transmitted wirelessly
from the radiator grille to inside the car so you don't have to run any awkward
cables from then engine or drill any holes! This makes the Sentinel much easier
to instal compared to any other remote system. In the stand-alone, full radar
detector system, alerts are provided through the AUDIOnode in-car receiver.

A-thermic windscreens? No longer a problem!

Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall,
Mercedes, BMW, and Audi A8 owners now have a radar detector that is specifically
designed to work with their vehicles. Athermic screens, sometimes called heat
reflective, solar or heat insulating windscreens, have such a high metallic
content that they stop most of the radar signals emitted from a GATSO or radar
gun from entering the car and and alerting a traditional radar detector. The
design of the Sentinel means you no longer have this problem.
No difficult hardwiring

The Sentinel is supplied with our
unique automatic power supply unit, the POWERSENSEnode, which simply connects
directly to the battery terminals and only turns your detector on when your
engine is running. This means you do not have to do any difficult hardwiring and
DIY instals can be easily done in minutes, rather than hours. If you can wire a
plug, you can fit the Cheetah Sentinel!
Fewer false alarms
All radar detectors give false
alarms when they encounter a signal that is on exactly the same frequency as a
speed camera. However, X, Ku and Ka bands are not used in the UK or Ireland for
speed detection, so these bands are removed from the Sentinel to reduce the
incidence of false alarms. Furthermore, the Sentinel comes with City mode - a
clever automatic muting facility. When city mode is activated, the in-car
warning unit will give 1 second of audible warning for each signal detected and
then become silent, but the warning LEDs will continue to function as normal
during an alert.

Detector head is compatible with other Cheetah products
Cheetah offer the Sentinel Radar
Detector with or without the AUDIOnode in-car warning unit. If you purchase the
"Detector head only" option you can receive its K band radar alerts on the
GPSmirror or the Vizalert helmet system instead. The "Detector head only" comes
complete with mounting brackets and the POWERSENSEnode automatic power supply
for easy remote fitting with no hardwiring hassles.
