Product Description & SpecificationsThese 9" HID Driving lights can illuminate signs up to 1100m in front of you, with a good usable light at 600m. They have a 6000k bright white Xenon bulb, that will last up to 2000 hours, which is around 10 times as long as a halogen bulb lasts in a normal spot or driving light. They have a replaceable tempered glass lens, which means worse case scenario, you can always replace the lens. The swivel mount base can be adjusted by 20 degrees left to right, and 90 degrees up and down. These HID driving lights have an internal ballast & starter, so everything is enclosed in the high impact ABS housing, there is no separate ballast to be mounted somewhere close by as per retro-fit HID kits.

A 55watt HID puts out a little more heat than a 55watt halogen bulb. If your headlights / spotlights are ony rated to 55watt (or it is suggested NOT to use higher than 55watt) then it is best to stick with 35watt only. That being said, we have had literally hundreds of customers install a 55watt HID kit with no heat problems. In my own car, I replaced the stock headlight assembly with aftermarket (plastic) headlights that had built in angel eyes. On these aftermarket lights, it actually said do not use HID. When I quizzed the seller, he told me that they were fine to use HID. So I installed 35watt in the low beam, and 55watt in the high beam, and two years later, these plastic aftermarket headlights have had no heat damage. The reflector and the polycarb lens are as clear as the day I bought them. Since 2006 when we started selling HID, I have only had two cases where a customer had issues with heat. Both these cases, the customer was using 55watt HIDs. So the bottom line is if you are worried about heat, stick to 35watt HID. But even with 55watt HID you have a 99% chance it will be fine. As for 75watt and 100watt HID systems, this is a different story. You should only use these HIDs to replace a 100watt or 130watt halogen bulb. The amount of heat generated by these high power HID will melt plastic lights. The best spotlight for these high power HIDs is a Hella Rally 4000 - which is made of metal with a glass lens. You risk melting anything made from plastic. How do I Install HID's into my spotlights?
When converting spotlights to HID the process is quite simple. Currently your existing spotlights are most likely connected to your car via a relay. So when you turn on high beam, your spot lights come on. The only difference, is instead of 12 volts going into the spotlight, 12 volts goes into the ballast (which is mounted somewhere in your engine bay). The ballast is the metal box which steps up the voltage to 23,000 volts to initially "fire up" the HID bulb. Coming OUT of the ballast is the high voltage cable that plugs into the bulb. So simply put, take the 12volt wiring that WAS going to your lights, and connect to the INPUT of the ballast. Then relpace your existing halogen bulb with the HID bulb, and connect to the ballast. The only slight modification you may need to do is in threading the new wires from the HID bulb through the existing hole in your light housing (you may need to drill this hole larger) ![]() Have a specific question about this product not answered above?
